We have been thinking about day and night and why we experience it. We discovered that earth orbits the sun every year but also spins on its axis once a day meaning we face the sun for half the day and face away from it the other half. We spoke about the importance of the sun - without it we would have no light or heat. When objects block sunlight, shadows are made on the floor of the object's shape. We investigated shadows by making stick puppets and moving its direction. We used a hole punch that made a small hole in the puppet. What happened? The sunlight was able to travel through the hole even though it was tiny! We also enjoyed watching his own shadow.
