To kick start our new topic of 'The Gingerbread Man' off the children made their own gingerbread man out of salt dough. They remembered how they used salt dough to make their dinosaur fossils. With Mrs Costello and Mrs Hopkins, the children mixed flour, salt and water together. They shared ideas about how the mixture changed from being dry and 'sandy' to a wet and sticky substance. As they made their gingerbread moulds, lots of descriptive words, such as smooth, soft, squishy were being used. When asked about what would happen to the salt dough when cooked some of them were able to identify that it would turn hard because of it being cooked.
